Senior Anna Isaacs won the Scholastic Arts and Writing Contest for her journalism column, “On Being Informed,” which she wrote in tenth grade as an intro journalism student. As a winning article, Isaacs's column is now featured in the Best Teen Writing of 2007 anthology.

Issue 1's front page photo was from history teacher Michael Curran's trip to Africa, not South America. As our readers may know, and as the Black & White staff should have learned from kindergarten field trips to the National Zoo, there are no gorillas in South America. Additionally, we managed to confuse two of the nation's top periodicals. In the headline for the story "Should colleges participate in Newsweek rankings?" we substituted Newsweek for US News and World Report. Black & White regrets both errors.
